Blues scrap past Jaguares

Cape Town - The Blues maintained New Zealand's strong start to the 2016 Super Rugby tournament with a hard-fought win over the Jaguares at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday.

The Blues won 24-16 after leading 15-6 at half-time.

The Blues scored two tries through flank Steven Luatua and flyhalf Ihaia West. West was also successful with a conversion and four penalties for a personal haul of 19 points.

The Jaguares replied with a try by replacement Gonzalo Bertramou. Nicolas Sánchez added the conversion, while Santiago González Iglesias was on target with three penalties.

The Blues picked up four points for their victory, while the Jaguares left empty-handed.

In next weekend's Round 7 action, the Blues travel to Waikato to play the Chiefs (Friday, April 8 at 09:35 SA time), while the Jaguares visit Wellington to take on the Hurricanes (Saturday, April 8 at 09:35).
