Barrett is back to lead the 10-time champions after missing their Round Four match against the Highlanders due to a knee injury. Barrett's return at lock is one of five changes to the Crusaders’ starting line-up.

In other alterations, George Bridge moves from the left wing to fullback with Leicester Fainga'anuku wearing the No 11 jersey, while Jack Goodhue shifts to outside centre to accommodate Dallas McLeod, who will make his Super Rugby debut at inside centre.

The final backline change sees Ere Enari start at scrumhalf with Mitchell Drummond providing cover from the bench.

Barrett’s return is the only change to the forwards. He comes in to partner Mitchell Dunshea in the engine room while Luke Romano drops down to the bench.
