to May 27, 2016 to find the last time an Australian franchise beat a New
Zealand franchise in the competition.
That day, the Waratahs emerged
45-25 victors over the Chiefs with Israel Folau and Michael Hooper scoring two
Since then, though, 23 months
have passed without any success for the Aussies.
All four of their franchises lost
this past weekend.
In addition to the Reds falling
to the Chiefs, the Waratahs lost 29-0 at home to the Lions, the Rebels lost
28-10 to the Bulls at Loftus and the Brumbies lost 25-20 at home to the
Jaguares on Sunday.
