Cape Town - If your own Super Rugby side is making you pull your hair out (we're talking to you, Stormers fans), then sparing a thought for the Australian franchises should make you feel better.
This past weekend's Super Rugby action has extended Australia's woeful record against New Zealand opposition in the tournament.
When the Reds lost 36-12 to the Chiefs in Brisbane on Saturday, it meant that Australian franchises had lost their last 35 matches against New Zealand opposition in Super Rugby.
You have to go back all the way to May 27, 2016 to find the last time an Australian franchise beat a New Zealand franchise in the competition.
That day, the Waratahs emerged 45-25 victors over the Chiefs with Israel Folau and Michael Hooper scoring two tries each.
Since then, though, 23 months have passed without any success for the Aussies.
All four of their franchises lost this past weekend.
In addition to the Reds falling to the Chiefs, the Waratahs lost 29-0 at home to the Lions, the Rebels lost 28-10 to the Bulls at Loftus and the Brumbies lost 25-20 at home to the Jaguares on Sunday.
