Cape Town - The Bulls have confirmed that flyhalf Handre Pollard will leave the union after the conclusion of the 2019 season.
Pollard has been linked with a move to French club Montpellier and a Bulls spokesperson confirmed Sport24 on Tuesday that the Springbok star will leave South Africa after this year's Rugby World Cup.
It was earlier reported that Pollard could earn in the region of R20 million a season at Montpellier.
Bulls CEO Alfons Meyer told Netwerk24 the franchise did their best to keep Pollard.
"It's one of those things but we've got no chance to compete with the pound and euro."
Meanwhile, the Bulls confirmed the signing of former Springbok flyhalf Morne Steyn from Stade Francais in France.
The 34-year-old has signed a two-year deal.
He represented the Bulls in 124 matches between 2008 and 2013 and also played 66 Tests for the Springboks between 2009 and 2016.
