Cape Town - The official Super Rugby semi-final team of the week features three Lions players.
SANZAAR officials on Tuesday named their Team of the Week after the completion of last weekend’s semi-finals.
The Crusaders qualified for a home final after beating the Hurricanes 30-12 in Christchurch.
They will host the Lions in Saturday’s final after the men from Johannesburg beat the Waratahs 44-26 at Ellis Park.
The three Lions players included are hooker Malcolm Marx, lock Franco Mostert and flank Kwagga Smith, with Smith also named Player of the Week.
The Crusaders have six players in the team, while there are also three each from the defeated Hurricanes and Waratahs.
SANZAAR heaped praise on Smith’s performance: “In an action-packed display the backrower scored two tries in his teams' win over the Waratahs. He won three turnovers , carried 11 times for 109 metres and beat 10 defenders.”
