Wheeler blow for Highlanders

    Cape Town - The Highlanders have been dealt a blow with the news that second row Joe Wheeler is out for the rest of the season.

    The powerful second row has made eight starts for the Highlanders this season, but had to come off in last week's defeat to the Brumbies.

    Scans have shown he ruptured ligaments during the game, and as a result he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

    "He's a big part of the team, a big part of the pack - obviously does our lineouts, he's a big loss for us," Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph said.
