WP to lose another young star

Cape Town - Another young star is set to leave Western Province and the Stormers, with lock Quinn Roux reportedly heading to Ireland.

Die Burger was reliably informed that the 21-year-old Roux will join Leinster at the conclusion of the Super Rugby tournament.

Roux was a star for Western Province is this year's Vodacom Cup, helping them win their maiden title with a final win over Griquas in Kimberley.

Roux was schooled at Affies in Pretoria but came through the WP junior structures from Under-19 level. He was initially touted by many as a better prospect than now Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth when the duo emerged as rising lock stars in the Cape.

Roux made his Super Rugby debut for the Stormers earlier this month against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld He was impressive in his 29 minutes on the field as the Stormers upset their arch-rivals 19-14.
