WP prop to join Force

Cape Town - Western Province prop Chris Heiberg has signed a deal to play for Australian Super Rugby franchise, the Force.

Heiberg, who played for WP in this year's Vodacom Cup, will join the Perth side on October 1. He was also on the Stormers' bench for their last two Super Rugby matches against the Reds and Kings, but didn't get game time.

His agent, Nina Rossouw of Union Sports Group, confirmed to Die Burger that the 28-year-old signed a deal which will keep him in Australia until the end of the 2016 season.

He will join fellow South Africans Wilhelm Steenkamp and Sias Ebersohn. Steenkamp signed a deal with the Force last week, while Ebersohn started playing for the Australians this season.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
