WP is in De Jongh's blood

Cape Town - Western Province is in his blood.

That is why it was an easy decision for Springbok centre Juan de Jongh when he extended his contract with Western Province and the Stormers until the end of 2015.

"It wasn't a difficult decision because I played all my senior rugby here and grew up as a WP and Stormers fan," the 23-year-old told Die Burger.

"The spirit I experienced here over the last few years was unbelievable. I've also learnt a lot.

"There are a lot of junior and senior players who have signed new contracts. With that core we can only get stronger and hopefully win trophies," said De Jongh.

Stormers coach Allister Coetzee confirmed that wing Gio Aplon also extended his contract on a "long-term" basis.

The Stormers take on the Blues in a Super Rugby clash at Newlands on Friday evening.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
