Cape Town - Stormers coach Allister Coetzee says Wallaby wing Cooper Vuna will not join them for next year's Super Rugby competition.
Tuesday's Cape Times reported that the Stormers managed to secure the signature of the former Melbourne Rebels speedster who currently plays for the Toshiba Brave Lupus in Japan.
However, attempts to lure the 104kg wing to Cape Town appear to have fallen through.
The Cape side will now continue their search for a wing replacement for Bryan Habana and Gerhard van den Heever, who left for Toulon and Munster respectively.
Coetzee told the Cape Times they could still make one or two signings which they hope to finalise in the next few weeks, but said Vuna would not be joining them.
The Stormers, who finished seventh in this year's Super Rugby competition, will start their pre-season preparations next Monday.
