Cheetahs drop Sarel Pretorius

Bloemfontein - Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské has made one change to his side for their Super Rugby encounter against the Stormers at the Free State stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:05.

"The Stormers are always a quality side and can never be underestimated," said Drotské.

"They are good on defence and we expect a tough game this weekend. It is always a close game when we play against them.

"We want to do good. It is important for us to keep the momentum of the last couple of weeks."

After a winning performance against the Rebels last week Drotské has opted to bring in scrumhalf Piet van Zyl for the experienced veteran Sarel Pretorius.

Pretorius started against the Australian side, but Van Zyl added some extra attacking value when he appeared on the field.

With flyhalf Riaan Smit still sidelined with a hamstring injury the coach has opted to keep Griquas flyhalf Burton Francis in the starting line-up.

Francis got the call to start against the Rebels just minutes before kick-off.

Another Griquas stalwart, Francois Brummer, comes in on the replacement bench as cover at both flyhalf and fullback for the men from Bloemfontein.
