Thorn among the Miss SA roses

Cape Town - Ok, so the connection requires your imagination, but we're all about 'sport and babes' here at Sport24...

As you ALL no doubt know - thanks to our colleagues at Channel24 - the 2014 Miss SA winner will be crowned on Sunday, March 30 at the Sun City Superbowl arena.

The 12 finalists - only one blonde among them? - were spotted recently at Kings Park in Durban (first sporting connection) posing with, wait for it, former Springbok scrumhalf Dave von Hoesslin (second sporting connection).

Von Hoesslin, 38, played five Tests for the Springboks - all in 1999 - scoring two tries in the process.

Oh, and a final, possible, sporting connection, one of the 12 beauties, Anzel, is rumoured to be the daughter of former Springbok legend Theuns Stofberg, who, as everyone knows, is the only player to ever win Currie Cup titles with THREE different provinces - Free State (1976), Northern Transvaal (1979 and 1980) and Western Province (1982 and 1983).

And there you have it!

PS: We're stll grumpy about the single blonde. After all gentlemen prefer blondes, no?
