Cape Town - Chiefs prop Ben Tameifuna has been cited for a dangerous tackle in his team's Super Rugby Grand final victory over the Sharks on Saturday.

Tameifuna has been cited for alleged foul play early in the second half of the Super Rugby final match on Saturday

Tameifuna is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous Tackling, when he tackled Ryan Kankowski of the Sharks, making contact with him above the line of the shoulders.

The incident occurred in the 47th minute of the match between the Chiefs and Sharks at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.

Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play.

How is it that a red card offense is not picked up right under the AR's nose yet a penalty is given for a push? Last week the Chiefs were slugging it out toe to toe with the Crusaders without even a penalty and this week a push gets you a penalty when we've seen countless pushing matches the whole season. Not this is not an excuse why the Sharks lost this a criticism of the level of consistency in applying the laws of rugby. It really has become a lottery.

Errrrr ....Isak..... thanks for sharing but....... Whilst I am very flattered by you having fantasies of me in a bikini I feel I should tell you that I am a happily married hetrosexual and you are wasting your time. If you really must insist on flirting with other guys when you get drunk perhaps you should try Cape Maori since you two have a lot in common.

the chiefs got away with it twice once was with the suspension that lasted two weeks during the break were elstad got punished two weeks later but the offense was on same day so chief wing was able to play all matches and then with the blatant punch up no out come . although the ref and linesman made correct call to issue white card and now in sharks match. maybe brybe lawrence is still involved at some level .

Sharks supporters and most rugby supporters do not subscribe to Isa.Visser's childishness and wont racialise what is an opportunity to bond and build a better South Africa. Well done Sharks for reaching the finals!! You're still the best side in SA..

Please note - "The victory put them into an elite group of Super Rugby champions joining the Crusaders (seven titles), Bulls (three), Auckland Blues (three), Brumbies (two), and Reds (one)."

Yawn, clearly super rugby is over judging by the comments here.....and even this article....quite clearly in LIVE TIME is was a RED CARD tackle, he jumped UP stiff arm, high. Not that it would have made a difference but still interesting how laws change in finals, etc.
