Cape Town - The Stormers face the possibility of losing hooker Tiaan Liebenberg for their Super Rugby clash against the Crusaders at Newlands on Saturday night.
According to Die Burger's website, the burly hooker is struggling with a sore elbow and will undergo a scan on Wednesday morning to determine his availability. The expectation is that Liebenberg could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
This will be a big blow to the Stormers with an All Black front row waiting on Saturday. They are already without the services of prop Steven Kitshoff, who is suspended for one match for dangerous tackling.
Should Liebenberg be ruled out, Deon Fourie will wear the No 2 jersey, with Frans Malherbe the only remaining member of the front row which started in the 35-22 win against the Brumbies last week.
Pat Cilliers will play loosehead in Kitshoff's place, with Martin Bezuidenhout providing cover for Fourie on the bench.
The Stormers' clash against the Crusaders kicks off at 19:10 on Saturday.
