This is an absolute joke. To lose a loyal player like Kitshoff for an overseas player is nothing short of B**ls**t. Its things like this that lose the Stormers supporters.

      Freddie - 2012-05-09 14:36

Wayne, kitshoff is also a over the border player dude, he plays for namib! Facts sorry!

      Bootman - 2012-05-09 16:07

What???? The Stormers are losing supporters??? Didnt seem like it the last time I was at Newlands. I think it was something like 38000 people there. Thats more than the Lions get in an entire season.

      Japjapjap - 2012-05-09 16:07

die gras is altyd groener aan di ander kant?? en enige speler wat weepee inbring of koop is altyd beter as 'n weepee speler?? en my ingels is ni so brits soos dit kan wees ni maaaar moet dit ni wees "Stormers borrow Canadian loosie" of bedoel di twakpraters loan soos in geld gewys??

  • Bruce - 2012-05-09 13:08

What a joke, are there no up and coming players in SA,shame on you Stormers management. No more support from this family and many others we have spoken to.

      RealTokolos - 2012-05-09 14:03

That's it Bruce... Do you want The Tokolos to send you a Blue Bull Supporter application form? Just inbox the Tokolos with your email address and Tokolos will set up the interview!

      Blouvitrioel - 2012-05-09 14:12

      Gryp na strooihalms. Bul groete.

      Japjapjap - 2012-05-09 16:08

NO, there's nothing coming from weepee??

      Alfred - 2012-05-10 11:54

Jy kan nie hom(of enige ander) ou wat by die Stormers loop kwalik neem nie, hy het seker net tot sy sinne gekom. Soos ek altyd se, nie eers n storm in n teekoppie nie. Ook geen koppies in die kas nie.

  • Wayne - 2012-05-09 13:08

This is absolutely ridiculous. To lose a player like Kitshoff to France and replace him with a Canadian makes a mockery of any developement programs that WP supposedly have in place. This is so typical of the amateur approach that WP have to local players. Its no wonder that so many of our talented youngsters are moving elsewhere. This policy will come back to haunt the WP. Or has it already.(no trophies for the last 10 years)

      John - 2012-05-09 13:31

Oh Dear!! Wayne you are an idiot. Do yourself a favour and write to the WP management so you are able to understand a little about contracting players.

      Johan - 2012-05-09 13:34

Spot on! I'm a Bulls man but something stinks here. Coetzee is supposed to promote local talent, but make 100 excuses and is so sorry when players leave

      Freddie - 2012-05-09 14:28

Uhmmmm wayne, ps, kitshoff is a namibian! So nothing lost and nothing gained! Played for namib in the world cup! So before you go off about things, get the facts straight 1st! Altho I must agree that we not diveloping our own young talenty across the country!

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 14:49

@Johan - you are a shameful excuse for a rugby fan - doesn't matter WHAT union you support.

      Johan - 2012-05-09 16:44

Saffa. First time I encounter you. Tell me more about yourself, where do you live, is all the stuff the blue boys write about you true?

  • Johan - 2012-05-09 13:28

You mean to tell me there's no other loosie in the Cape good enough? Then you have serius depth problems,

      Johan - 2012-05-09 16:48

No Daniel you lost me, you sound just as lost as Allistar

  • jack.oosthuysen - 2012-05-09 13:31

I hope he knows it is R3000 not Euros per game.

      Anet - 2012-05-09 14:20

      Japjapjap - 2012-05-09 16:12

      hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha lol

  • Saffa - 2012-05-09 13:33

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siNOW8OXDms - I'm not too distressed by this chaps short term inclusion. Nizaam will still start the games......

      Nic - 2012-05-09 13:42

Of course you'll say that, moron. Blind, toe.

      Lionel - 2012-05-09 13:50

Nic,did your mother never teach you not to talk to a lady like that??

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 13:55

@Lionel - the only moron in town will be NicNac when this Jebb chap smashes Spies 8 metres back. (Cos unlike Spies, Sinclair HAS actually played against the All Blacks....well, my definition of playing against the AB's means one has to have actually physically TOUCHED an AB player in the field of play - so Spies is still uncapped against the Kiwis)

      Lionel - 2012-05-09 14:08

      LOL@Saffa

  • RealTokolos - 2012-05-09 13:39

Baie goeie skuuf daai Stormpies. Hou so aan!!!

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 14:01

Not sure how to tell you this old Tokkie....BUT: Coetzee wanted a Duane Vermeulen type player as backup.....old Jebb is that type of player. Carr and Co are very skilled, very talented and they read the game beautifully........a chap like Jebb (if you watched any of the Canadian games in the WC...) is a tough as nails ball carrier, with Vermeulen like bulldozing qualities and is a pretty good defender. There are certain games where one NEEDS this type of player.....i.e. when we play the Bulls, and Spies the opponent. The added luxury of Jebb not being able to understand MacGuyver Greyling's guttural swearing and taunting, might prove to be valuable as well....Canucks are tough as tekkies old chap, and I expect this chap to start against the Bulls on the 2nd and against the Sharks - with Carr having time and space to run havoc when he comes off the bench.

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 14:34

Well @Tokkie....being able to read and write doesn't help Spies much when he is on the field? IMHO, being able to take a hit, make a hit and a STRONG leg drive are far more worthy 'qualities' a rugby player should have....

      RealTokolos - 2012-05-09 14:55

Saffa Dear... You are getting very confused here. Not good at multi tasking I see. Blou was talking about reading and writing and you answer me.... I don't know anymore. The Tassies getting to you?

      Blouvitrioel - 2012-05-09 15:05

Bul groete.

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 15:28

Jaco, Alwyn, The Doc, Brannas all kid of roll into one for me - apologies if I answered the incorrect profile, but even we wise folk will make a mistakes every 15 years or so.

      Japjapjap - 2012-05-09 16:15

      hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha lol

  • wynand.nel.5 - 2012-05-09 13:44

kitshoff is for namibie he isn't a south african , if u wana stop supporting the stomers go for it. The stormers youngsters like kolisi, carr, elstadt ect. Needs experience like Sinclair while guys like Burger and Vermeulen are injured. Good choice Stormers management.

  • FeF - 2012-05-09 13:45

Our top 3 looosies,Schalk,Vermeulen ank Koster are injured. We are using our 2nd string trio of Siya,Elstadt and Carr.Although these 3 youngsters are performing brilliantly we dont have much backup left.Kitshoff can cover 6 but with Armands injury there is no cover left for 7 and 8.Seeing that we are already using the loosies from the Vodacom side the next step would be to fetch guys from the Varsity Cup.I dont know about u guys but taking a youngster with no experience to Durban and Loftus would be suicide. We have depth and do use our youngsters, but sometimes theres just no other choice left.Any other team would suffer if they loose 4 looosies at the same time, the fact is that we have been coping brilliantly so far!!

  • Burtfred - 2012-05-09 13:50

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 14:34

What is BESAG? Is it a verb, a noun, an adjective? I'm not fluent in Bull?

      Blouvitrioel - 2012-05-09 15:08

  • Harry - 2012-05-09 14:09

oh boy, i can just imagine the Sharks or Bulls pulling a "foefie" like that, same story as last year when they had to "loan" the show pony Schalk Brits - Stormers thanks, you guys make it soooo easy ...

      Japjapjap - 2012-05-09 16:18

      en daai fijiaan, en en....

      Saffa - 2012-05-09 18:41

Andy Goode playing flyhalf for the Sharks ring any bells old Harry?

  • Glen - 2012-05-09 14:35

All these comments about picking home grown talent, get real folks, Rugby is a global game and sometimes we can perhaps gain something from having "outsiders" in our ranks. Plenty South African players leave to play overseas and come back better off for it too. To slag Stormers off for having 1 overseas player is a bit unfair, The Bulls have a Kenyan in their Super rugby squad this year, the Sharks have a Frenchman and the Lions have a New Zealander. Most of the other Super Rugby squads contain players of nationalities other than their home country. I don't see a problem.

  • Charl - 2012-05-09 14:36

As jy 'n ander span wil ondersteun net omdat die WeePee 'n Kanadees geleen het, go for it. Groete WeePee ondersteuner.

      RealTokolos - 2012-05-09 14:57

Dis Saffa Wyfie... NIE mannetjie nie! PLANK

      Japjapjap - 2012-05-09 16:31

@charl- "Suid afrikaanse rugby ondersteuners is darem nie van die slimste in die wereld nie..."-charl is jy sa se nr 1 ondersteuner?? charl, die enigste oukie wat ni iets weet ni, is di charl mannetji??charl, 90% van 24 se forums is oor weepee- daarom lewer Bulle kommentaar op weepee forums, verstaan jy??charl, die weepee se ondersteuners basis groei ook net as hulle iets wen...oeps, julle is seker al diep in di rooi??charl, natuurlik is di magtige weepee unie 'n beter unie, as di klein, onbekende, niks segende Bulle unie, met hulle vele Super bekers en talle CC??charl, is jy deel van daai webside "we hate the bulls" hoor julle is al 20000- hypocrite??

      Slang - 2012-05-10 04:51

      Gavin - 2012-05-10 13:38

Lyk my jy het n probleem met Duane omdat hy beter as jul stampkar NO.8 Spies is.

  • Charlie - 2012-05-10 08:16

Coetzee is making the statement that we have a dearth of loose forwards in South Africa. What rubbish.

  • patrickjasoncawood - 2012-05-10 08:39

Sure the local loosies feel great about this signing...

  • Theo Ferreira - 2012-05-10 09:29

It takes guts and dedication to overcome the challenges of playing at this level if you grow up in the USA or Canada, where everyone else plays hockey or football instead and most national players still keep a day job going. 3 world cups from now I would not be surprised to see a newcomer team in the quarters. So, show some class guys and welcome Jebb to SA Rugby, I can guarantee you this is a massive honour and dream for him; to play in South Africa. The Stormers have gone above and beyond using their young talent and are at the point where the next emerging bloke in line for this position just isn't up to this level yet. If you want to continue winning, consider approaching this as if it is a professional sport.. Welcome Jebb, enjoy the tough games coming up!
