Sadie could quit Bulls - report

Cape Town - Bulls centre Johann Sadie could leave the Pretoria-based union after asking to be released from his contract, according to SuperSport.com.

Sadie has had an indifferent season since joining from the Stormers at the end of last year. He has struggled to hold down a spot in the Bulls' 22-man squad after a season plagued by injury and a dip in form.

The Bulls management have apparently given the 23-year-old their blessing to “look at other options” ahead of a possible release from his contract. It is believed he's unhappy with the lack of game time he has received this season.

This is quite a turn in fortunes for the former Paarl Gymnasium pupil. In February this year he said he felt a "stronger, fitter and mentally tougher" player since joining the Bulls from the Stormers.

"Everything has changed since I came to the Bulls 13 weeks ago.

"Things are done a lot differently here than at the Stormers and each of the regions have their own culture.

"I don't really want to make comparisons but what I can say is that I never realised what my body and mind were capable of before I joined the Bulls. I didn't realise one could be pushed so far (to the limit)," he said at the time.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
