Auckland - Sonny Bill Williams will quit rugby union to play for the Sydney Roosters next year, according to a former Australian league international.
According to the Stuff.co.nz website, Matty Johns, older brother of New South Wales great Andrew Johns, told Sydney's Triple M radio station this morning that as far as he knows, Williams will "100 percent" be at the Roosters next season.
"There's only the details about his boxing career to sort out," Johns said.
Williams is contracted to the New Zealand Rugby Union for 2012 and has signed with the Chiefs for this Super Rugby season.
The former league player has been non-commital about his future beyond this year and was spotted meeting with Roosters supremo Nick Politis and Channel Nine boss David Gyngell in Sydney in early January.
Williams walked out on his last league contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs, with a condition of his release being that he could not play for a rival NRL club until 2013.
