Richards cleared after Alberts collision

    Cape Town - Lions wing Mark Richards has been cleared to play in this weekend’s Super Rugby clash against the Cheetahs in Johannesburg.

    Richards suffered a concussion after he took a heavy blow colliding with Sharks forward Willem Alberts in their clash at Emirates Airline Park on April 11.

    The Lions released an injury report on Monday where Richards was cleared for this weekend’s match.

    Courtnall Skosan (ankle), Sampie Mastriet (ankle) and Stokkies Hanekom (knee) have also been cleared and are available for selection.

    On the negative side, Malcolm Marx (ankle), Steph de Wit (shoulder), Rohan Janse van Rensburg (ankle) and Martin Muller (calf) are all unavailable for selection this week as they are still involved in intensive recovery programmes.

    The Lions’ clash against the Cheetahs kicks off at 17:05 on Saturday.
