Reds lose two players

Johannesburg - The Reds’ hopes of grabbing a win while in South Africa were dealt a blow as two players left for home with injuries, one of them serious.

According to the supersport.com website, prop Ben Daley has been ruled out of action for six weeks after a grade 2 Medial Ligament strain, sustained during the team’s loss to the Cell C Sharks in Durban.

Daley came off the field in the loss, and went for scans, with team staff deciding he will begin rehabilitation immediately and will return home to Brisbane immediately.

Also out of the tour is Reds centre Chris Feauai-Sautia, who complained of a hamstring strain during training this week.

After being assessed by the team’s medical staff, it was deemed he was not able to play this weekend and as the team are returning home on Sunday, it was decided he needed to leave for Brisbane straight away to undergo scans and possible treatment.

Despite this, the Reds are set to go on an all-out assault against the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday, looking to grab some points from their trip to the Republic.
