Rebels too good for Force

Cape Town - The Rebels have beaten the Force in an entertaining all-Australian Super Rugby clash in Perth on Saturday.

The Rebels won 30-23 after leading 15-11 at half-time.

The Rebels scored four tries through lock Hugh Pyle and wings Jason Woodward (2) and Richard Kingi. Fullback James O'Connor was successful with two conversions and two penalties.

The Force replied with tries by centre Winston Stanley, fullback Will Tupou and wing Patrick Dellit. Flyhalf Sias Ebersohn was on target with two penalties, while centre Kyle Godwin added a conversion.

The Rebels picked up a full-house of five points for their victory and moved ahead of the Force in the Australian Conference and into 12th spot in the Overall standings.

The Force picked up a single point for losing by seven or fewer points, but slipped to last in the Australian Conference and 14th overall.

In next weekend's Round 9 action, the Rebels host the Kings in Melbourne (Saturday, April 13 at 11:40), while the Force welcome the Crusaders to Perth (Saturday, April 13 at 13:45).
