Pretorius blow for Cheetahs

Cape Town - The Cheetahs have been dealt a blow with the news that scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius is ruled out with an ankle injury, the Volksblad website reports.

Pretorius was injured in the 23-16 home loss to the Western Force last Saturday, and according backline coach Hawies Fourie, will be sidelined for between three and four weeks.

Shaun Venter will now wear the No 9 jersey for Saturday's clash against the Brumbies, with Free State Vodacom Cup player Renier Botha on the bench.

Botha has been called up because the scrumhalf third in line, Tian Meyer, is playing for Griquas in the Vodacom Cup final on Friday.

Saturday's clash against the Brumbies at the Free State Stadium kicks off at 19:10.
