Oosthuizen worry for Cheetahs

Cape Town - The Cheetahs are sweating over the availability of prop Coenie Oosthuizen ahead of their Super Rugby clash against the Reds in Brisbane on Friday.

The Springbok is struggling with a neck injury and will go for a scan in Brisbane on Tuesday, the Volksblad website reports.

Should Oosthuizen be unavailable, either Trevor Nyakane or Maks van Dyk will come in at tighthead.

Meanwhile, flank Lappies Labuschagné (Achilles) and wing Raymond Rhule (ankle) are also in doubt.

Labuschagné is expected to recover in time but Rhule may miss out. Both will be given until Thursday to prove their fitness.

Should Labuschagné be ruled out, Jean Cook will replace him, while either Hennie Daniller or Rayno Benjamin will come in for Rhule.

If fullback Daniller is preferred, then Willie le Roux will be moved to wing.

Kick-off for Friday's game is at 10:40 (SA time).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
