Cape Town - Crusaders wing Nemani Nadolo says he was racially abused in a Christchurch bar on Sunday night.
Nadolo, 26, played for the Crusaders in their 33-32 Super Rugby final loss to the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday.
According to the Stuff.co.nz website, Nadolo was at a central Christchurch bar on Sunday night with team-mates when he was approached by a group of people who had been drinking. One of them then used the slur to Nadolo.
A disappointed Nadolo responded via his official twitter account:
Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder labelled the incident as "disgraceful" but said he was impressed by the way Nadolo handled it.
Nadolo did not react or even tell his team-mates, who did not hear the slur. If he had, the incident might have escalated, Blackadder said.
