NZ referee pulls up lame

Brisbane - Referee Glen Jackson has tweaked a calf muscle and will be unable to officiate the Australian Super Rugby derby between the Reds and the Force at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday.

The former New Zealand Maori utility back pulled up lame at a training session on Thursday and while it is a relatively minor injury he has been advised by medical teams that he should not run hard on it within a 48 hour period.

Jackson will be replaced in the middle by Ian Smith with Andrew Lees stepping into the role of assistant referee for the match.
