Cape Town - The Kings have received a setback ahead of their Super Rugby opener after wing Michael Killian broke his arm.
According to the Rugby15.co.za website, Killian was injured in training on Friday with subsequent scans over the weekend confirming he had broken his arm.
“Michael has a fracture to the mid third of his radius and will be out for between four to six weeks, which means he will miss out on the opening game against Western Force and most likely the Sharks game as well," the Kings' director of rugby, Alan Solomons, said on Monday.
The 29-year-old Killian represented Eastern Province between 2004 and 2007 before leaving to join the Lions in Johannesburg in 2008. He returned to Port Elizabeth in June last year.
The Kings' first Super Rugby game against the Force is on Saturday, February 23 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
