Cape Town - Chiefs wing Lelia Masaga will follow team-mate Richard Kahui to Japan at the end of this year's Super Rugby season.
According to the TVNZ website, the 26-year-old, who played one Test for the All Blacks against Italy in 2009, has signed with the Japanese club Honda Heat for two seasons.
Masaga, who has played 80 games for the Chiefs and earned the nickname 'Flash' for his speed and try scoring abilities, said it too good an offer to turn down.
"This was a really tough decision to make. The Chiefs have been an important part of my life for eight years, but this was just simply an opportunity that was too good to turn down," Masaga said.
Kahui confirmed last month that he's signed with Toshiba Brave Lupus.
The Chiefs, the defending Super Rugby champions, currently head the New Zealand Conference heading into Round 7 where they will host the Blues in Mount Maunganui on Saturday.
