Loose forward boost for Bulls

2012-05-22 07:45

Cape Town - Bulls loose forward duo of Dewald Potgieter and CJ Stander have been declared fit for their last match on tour against the Chiefs in Hamilton on Friday.

Both Potgieter (AC joint) and Stander (hip) were injured in their 16-11 loss to the Highlanders in Dunedin on Saturday.

But according to Beeld, scans on Monday cleared both ahead of the match against the second-placed Chiefs.

Coach Frans Ludeke will now be able to pick the same team for Friday's clash. The men from Pretoria led the overall Super Rugby standings leading into last weekend's matches, but the hiccup in Dunedin - compounded with the Stormers beating the Waratahs - has seen them slip the fourth spot overall.

"We can finish the tour in the best possible manner. Therefore I am elated to again be able to call on CJ and Dewald's numbers," said coach Frans Ludeke.

"You need your best players in key matches and this one - against (one of) the pace-setters in the competition - is certainly such a match."

Pappa wag vir julle die 2de Junie heheheehe Good luck Bulle for this weekend

      Harold - 2012-05-22 08:48

      And extra cold.

      Lionel - 2012-05-22 08:52

@Harold - LoL (but somehow true - eesh)

      René - 2012-05-22 09:35

To all the Bull supporters: A nice FACTUAL article done by BMI research about the most supporters amongst other things, check out who is on TOP: http://www.thebulls.co.za/article.aspx?artid=1391811 PS: Don't shoot the messenger

      Bossie - 2012-05-22 10:31

      Bossie - 2012-05-22 11:18

@Rene- "with an average match day audience of 535 744" Dis actually lagwekkend om so getal te quote. Dis maar my 2sent:-)

      JouMa - 2012-05-22 11:23

daai statistiek is seriously flawed aangesien BMI aanneem dat elke persoon wat na die wedstryd kyk bulls ondersteun net so met stormers sharks ens statistiek ek kyk elke liewe wedstryd ongeag wie speel even arme leeutjies

I've got a bad feeling about this game.

      Lionel - 2012-05-22 08:03

Feeling that you gonna slip further down the log:):):)

      Harold - 2012-05-22 08:11

At least I see the reality of playing the Chiefs on their homeground after losing our last game.

      Priester - 2012-05-22 08:12

Harold I share your feelings but then I have a good feeling of the Sharks VS papsakke game! Lionel ek sal beslis nie so 'n groot bek he oor die 2de Junie game as ek jy was nie. Blou Bul Groete!

      Harold - 2012-05-22 08:15

Yes Priester, I also feel good about the Sharks game. Go Sharks!!! Or like Ashwin says, Saarks.

      Lionel - 2012-05-22 08:16

      Dewald - 2012-05-22 08:30

Why not rest them for the Stormers game. We have no chance of beating the Chiefs in Hamelton. Lets focus on the games we can win!

      René - 2012-05-22 08:41

Morning all, I agree it will be a toughy against the Chiefs, especially with SBW (against Sadie). I really wish JP (cannot for the life of me remember his surname now) was still playing. Most of our wins against the Chiefs are in recent years and losses are a close affair. I also think the Bulls will have one foot on the plane already where the Chiefs will be coming of a bye and obviously refreshed. So things are not looking to great for the Bulls. Anyway the Bulls had a horrible game against the Highlanders, so I think they owe us supporters some 'happy time' again.

      Lionel - 2012-05-22 08:46

Rene, are you referring to JP Nel???

      René - 2012-05-22 08:48

      @Lionel, that's him - thanks

      Harold - 2012-05-22 09:21

René, I agree about Sadie. He's a very weak link.

  • Priester - 2012-05-22 08:08

This is going to be a tough game! The Bulls will have to double their efforts if they want to win this one and stay in contention for the top of the log position. Blou Bul Groete

      Lionel - 2012-05-22 08:11

We all in for a tough two weeks ,only exception is that you guys have to travel back, lucky the game is Friday, good luck!!!!!!!

  • mvw74 - 2012-05-22 08:08

Where's the big mouth so called Tokolosh today?? Hahaha.....idiot!

  • Arno - 2012-05-22 08:25

You guys can banter all you like but the bulls will def not be going to Hamilton to loose!!!

      Master - 2012-05-22 08:38

I think you've got a few LOOSE screws.

      René - 2012-05-22 08:53

@Arno, beware of the 'grammar police' - we all know what you mean! Anyway, I'm sure they don't go to Hamilton to lose however considering its our 4th week and the Chiefs are coming of a bye, hmmm, it will take a ginormous effort to beat them!

  • Arno - 2012-05-22 08:27

By loose I mean the mindset to loose!!!Hopefully they can upset with a win i mean look at what the rebels did to the crusaers!!!??!!!Anything is possible!!!!Bulle Bo!

      Jason - 2012-05-22 10:34

Arno nice attempt at a recovery but then it would have been "too loose" and not "to loose" lol should have just left it the way it was. Enjoy your day!

      Roy - 2012-05-22 11:55

      Whahahaha!!!!! Chop!!!

      Johan - 2012-05-22 22:47

@Jason Kan jy enigsins vetter wees? Vark

      Bossie - 2012-05-22 22:59

      Johan=pateet!

      Kenny - 2012-05-23 10:44
