18:55 - TWEET:

Two from two for SA sides v Australasian today. Seldom had it so good this year. Cheetahs for hat-trick? - Rob Houwing

FULL TIME: Stormers 24-8 Western Force

Apart from a dull last 20 minutes, the Stormers were full value for their win. They were good with ball in hand, and did well at the set pieces!

80' - The Stormers win a penalty on the ground to give Coleman the opportunity to boot it out to end the game!

80' - The Force win back a penalty and get one last chance to attack inside Stormers territory.

The hosts are now also back to their full complement of 15 players...

79' - A Stormers lineout penalty gives them the chance to kick up-field and finish the game on a high.

78' - A Stormers penalty at the ensuing scrum brings relief and probably puts paid to any hopes the Aussies had of getting a losing bonus point.

76' - Force centre Chris Tuatara-Morrison is over the line but drops it as he is about to score! A brilliant tackle from Michael Rhodes dislodged the ball!

75' - Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins almost goes over in the corner, but is stopped just short.

Great tackle from Kobus van Wyk, who is perhaps lucky not to be penalised afterwards because he never released Cummins in the tackle...

75' - Force back on the attack inside the red zone...

73' - Coleman kicks the ensuing kick-off straight into touch... The hosts have gone completely off the boil here!

72' - Ebersohn's conversion misses to the left. That was an important miss. Had he converted, the Force could have hauled the Stormers' total in with two converted tries. Now they still need to score at least three times.

Stormers 24-8 Force

71'- TRY! Force captain Matt Hodgson scores close to the touchline. It had to come with only 13 Stormers on the field.

70' - YELLOW CARD NO 2

The Stormers are down to 13 men. Jaco Taute also off after conceding a penalty.

Some shocking discipline displayed by the Stormers here!

69' - Relentless attack by the Force on the Stormers line...

68' - YELLOW CARD

Cheslin Kolbe gets 10 minutes in the sin-bin after being caught off-side. The team was on a warning so it was the correct call made by the referee.

67' - Grant is off for the Stormers, replaced by Kurt Coleman.

Nizaam Carr also off, with Rohan Kitshoff on.

67' - Referee Pollock gives the Stormers an official warning for repeated transgressions inside the red zone. Cool heads needed now for the hosts...

65' - From the ensuing scrum, Grant fails to find touch, which gives the Force another chance to attack inside the Stormers 22m area...

64' - NO TRY!

The TMO agrees with me and rules that the pass was forward. Relief for the Stormers!

64' - Replays clearly show a forward pass from scrumhalf Ian Prior to flyhalf Ebersohn.

64' - TMO CALL

Shaun Veldsman is again called into action. A possible Force try, but he must also check for a possible earlier forward pass...

63' - Desperate defence by the Stormers on their own line here...

61' - The Force turn down a kickable penalty to set up an attacking lineout five metres out...

PICTURE

Great tackle by Cheslin Kolbe - Carl Fourie on Twitter

60' - Grant misses the penalty attempt to the right. They should have opted for another attacking lineout there. Surely the game is won now??

58' - Stormers dominating with their lineout mauls today. They win another penalty when the Force collapse it. This time they opt to kick for goal.

Grant to line up - about 15m in from the touchline.

56' - Force set to make a whole host or replacements up front now...

55' - Force captain Matt Hodgson has been about their only shining light tonight. He has been good on the ground, helping them win 8 turnovers, compared to the Stormers' 3.

Hodgson has also made 12 tackles thus far!

53' - However, a poor lineout throw from Fourie scuppers their plans five metres out...

53' - Another Stormers penalty in range and again they set up a lineout - hunting bonus point try now!

52' - Duane Vermeulen showing some skills with the boot as his tactical kick brings play deep into Force territory...

49' - 15 AGAINST 15

Force lock Adam Coleman is now back from the sin-bin.

It was a costly absence which saw the Stormers score 14 points!

48' - Grant CONVERTS from about 15m in from touch. His goal-kicking looking much better tonight!

Stormers 24-3 Force.

47' - TRY! The Stormers attack is relentless and lock Ruan Botha barges over for his first Super Rugby try.

45' - NO TRY! There was no conclusive evidence that a try was scored. It was in all likelihood a try, but was impossible to see on TV.

The referee (Chris Pollock) should have made that call himself there. He was closest to the action... Unlucky for the Stormers.

45' - TRY OR NO TRY?

After several phases of attack, Stormers hooker Deon Fourie goes over. The referee isn't sure and he consults the TMO.

Fourie looks confident that he scored.

44' - But the Force drop it again and the hosts counter up-field...

43' - The Stormers go from hero to zero in the scrum when the Force - still playing with seven men - win a tighthead!

41' - The Force - on the attack inside the Stormers 22m area - lose possession when prop Pek Cowan drops it cold in midfield. That's what happens when a prop stands at centre though!

41' - Deon Fourie penalised on the ground. It's in range but the visitors opt to kick for touch instead...

40' - Good to see the Stormers take the kick-off this time round. However, Grant's clearance isn't very far...

40' - Welcome back for the second half. Ebersohn gets play started...

18:02 - TWEET

Force have got away with a lot in recent weeks, good to see referee Chris Pollock being firm with them - Ken Borland

Clean breaks: Stormers 4-0 Force
Tackles made: Stormers 30-76 Force
Missed tackles: Stormers 4-13 Force

Lineouts lost: Stormers 0-1 Force
Scrums won: Stormers 2-3 Force
Scrums lost: Stormers 0-1 Force
Penalties conceded: Stormers 3-10 Force

HALF-TIME: Stormers 17-3 Force.

40' - The Stormers fail to handle the ensuing kick-off but they are lucky when the Froce knock it on.

That's half-time folks!

39' - CONVERSION by Grant.

Stormers 17-3 Force.

38' - PENALTY TRY!

The Stormers - aided by a one-man advantage - demolish the Force scrum and the referee awards them a penalty try when the visitors collapse.

My word, when last did a Stormers scrum look that good?

37' - YELLOW CARD for Force lock Adam Coleman for collapsing the maul.

The Force had been warned for repeated infringements...

36' - A brilliant lineout maul brings the Stormers right up to the tryline before the Force collapse it. They are penalised and I see the referee digging in his pocket...

35' - The Stormers win a lineout penalty in range but opt to kick for touch. Perhaps just too far out for Grant...

34' - The Force surge up to the Stormers 22m, but great work on the ground by Vermeulen wins a penalty.

31' - The Force attack just outside the Stormers 22m area - something they've hardly done in this game... but good defence by the hosts keeps them out.

29' - The Force uncharacteristically try to run it out from inside their own 22m area...

Ebersohn then restores order when he lands a massive touch finder down-field. My word, his rugby has been good this year. I don't see him returning to the Cheetahs...

26' - A nice dart down the Grandstand touchline from Kolbe brings the Stormers back into the red zone, but a knock on halts their charge...

Kolbe showing no signs of a player who only recently returned from a serious knee injury!

23' - The Force attempt a driving maul but are penalised. Relief for the home side.

23' - A great tactical kick by Ebersohn forces Stormers wing Kobus van Wyk to run it out in the corner to give the Force an attacking lineout.

23' - Brok Harris is off with an ankle injury and is replaced by Alistair Vermaak.

22' - 22 minutes gone and the Stormers have made only 8 tackles compared to the 65 made by the Force!

22' - PENALTY converted by Ebersohn.

Stormers 10-3 Force.

21' - Oh dear, right from the ensuing kick-off the Stormers go and concede a penalty when Vermeulen holds on too long on the ground.

Easy kick coming up for Ebersohn...

20' - Grant CONVERTS from the corner. Comfortably his best kick of the year.

Stormers 10-0 Force.

18' - TRY! Finally the Force dam-wall is broken as Juan de Jongh scores in the corner after another concerted period of attack. Some great slick handling there from the Stormers backs, Kolbe in particular.

17' - The TMO rules no arms were used and the hosts win a penalty. A decent touch finder then brings them right onto the Force 22m line.

16' - Force No 8 Ben McCalman barges into Grant with his shoulder and late. The referee consults the TMO for advice. No arms used, which should be a penalty.

15' - PENALTY converted by Grant and the Stormers get some reward for their dominance.

Stormers 3-0 Force.

14' - Another Stormers wave of attack inside the Force 22m area. They win a penalty right in front.

Grant will line up for posts.

13' - After 13 minutes, the Force have made 38 tackles compared to the Stormers' 4.

11' - A Stormers try is on for all money, but a selfish Peter Grant decides to go himself and is tackled short of the line. He then concedes a penalty for holding on.

Poor from Grant. Had he passed to his left, a try would surely have been scored.

10' - A Stormers lineout steal brings them back into the Force's 22m area...

9' - NO TRY! Veldsman correctly rules it was a double movement. Penalty to the Force. Brilliant defence from the visitors.

But seriously, the Stormers should have gone wide there. A try was on!

9' - Nic Groom looks to have scored, but did he knock it on or was there a double movement?

9' - TMO DECISION

The referee goes upstairs for a possible Stormers try. Shaun Veldsman is the TMO.

8' - TWEET

Better decision making would have seen the home team score , someone needs to take responsibility on the field #STOvFOR - Rugga World

7' - After 17 phases the Stormers find no way through. Resilient defence from the Force!

Play is halted when referee Chris Pollock blows for a Stormers scrum. That was oh-so-close from the hosts...

6' - Stormers inches away from the tryline...

4' - Another kickable penalty to the hosts as one of the Force players comes in from the wrong side at a ruck. This time, the hosts opt for a lineout...

3' - The Stormers win the early scrum battle! They get a free kick when the Force take too long to put it in...It gives the Stormers an attacking chance inside the Force 22m area.

2' - Grant's kick looks good but it doesn't have the legs... Strong wind already proving troublesome.

1' - An early penalty for the Stormers after Force wing - and former WP player - Marcel Brache fails to handle a Grant high ball. Deon Fourie then does good work on the ground to win the penalty.

Grant has a tough kick from the touchline...

17:05 - Grant gets play underway...

17:04 - Peter Grant leads out the Stormers in his 100th Super Rugby match. A huge roar from the Newlands faithful...

Brok Harris also plays his 200 game for the WP Rugby Union.

17:03 - Matt Hodgson leads out the Force - his 108th Super Rugby game.

17:00 - CONDITIONS

A pretty strong south-easterly breeze at Newlands. The wind will swirl around inside the stadium, making it difficult for the goal-kickers!

16:55 - PICTURE

Nice vibe outside the Newlands Grandstand shortly before kick-off... (Gallo Images)

16:43 - Peter Grant will play his 100th Super Rugby match for the Stormers today. He can count himself unlucky to start ahead of Kurt Coleman though. Perhaps Grant will respond well after all the criticism about his inclusion...?

CLICK HERE  to read what I had to say earlier this week about the decision to start with Grant.

16:42 - In studio SuperSport commentator Nick Mallett says he is very worried about the weak Stormers front row, which came unstuck badly last week in Pretoria. I tend to agree with Mallett...

16:33 - MORE BAD NEWS FOR STORMERS

Skipper Schalk Burger has been ruled out after failing to recover from a back injury.

Siya Kolisi comes into the starting team, with Rohan Kitshoff coming in on the bench.

Duane Vermeulen takes over the captaincy for the hosts.
