16:48 - I have so say, the Chiefs fully deserved to get the draw. They were the only team on the park in second period and showed great guts and determination.

The Cheetahs now know you can't just sit back and defend a lead, even if it is 24 points!

In next week's action, the Cheetahs host the Crusaders, while the Chiefs play the Rebels at home in Hamilton.

It's a another draw for the Chiefs after yet another remarkable fightback.

16:46 - TRY! Tim Nanai-Williams scores under the posts after side-stepping through the defence. Amazing stuff!

It was set up after a concerted period of attack by the Chiefs...

16:45 - Chiefs right on the Cheetahs line...

16:44 - Chiefs surge up to the Cheetahs 22m line...

16:43 - Inside the final minute and the Cheetahs have an attacking lineout close to the Chiefs 22m line...

But they concede a penalty and the Chiefs will launch one last attacking move...

16:41 - PENALTY converted by Goosen.

Cheetahs 43-36 Chiefs after 78 minutes. Are we seeing another draw?

16:40 - A dominant scrum from the Cheetahs sees them win a penalty. Goosen will line up from in front. The one area the Cheetahs were far superior in today!

16:39 - Chiefs trying to run it our of their own half and knock it on under pressure. Four minutes left and the Cheetahs have a scrum in the middle of the park.

16:37 - A Chiefs player was played off the ball by Lappies Labuschagné, while Willie le Roux was also tripped.

So it's an eye for an eye and the TMO rules play on...

Both incidents were penalisable...

16:36 - Just as the game becomes very loose, Willie le Roux spots a gap and kicks down-field into the Chiefs 22m area.

But referee Joubert wants to check with the TMO for foul play.

16:28 - A real howler from Cruden who pulls it badly to the right. Would have made it a five point game... 37-29 with 13 minutes left.

16:27 - Chiefs back in Cheetahs territory and win a penalty as the hosts go off-side. Cruden to line up from in front, about 30m out.

Tawera Kerr-Barlow now also on at No 9 for Augustine Pulu - the double try-scorer.

16:23 - The Cheetahs take off their best player, Sarel Pretorius. Shaun Venter on.

Why take off the player who gives you so much X-factor?!

16:23 - Cheetahs 37-29 Chiefs after 63 minutes.

16:23 - CONVERSION by Cruden. Right from the corner!

16:22 - TRY! Chiefs wing Asaeli Tikoirotuma scores in the corner after another attractive attack...

16:20 - It's been all Chiefs in the second half. Unless the Cheetahs start playing again, we'll likely see another comeback by the Kiwi side...

16:11 - SECOND HALF POSSESSION

Cheetahs 17%
Chiefs 83%

16:10 - CONVERSION by Cruden from right next to the posts.

Cheetahs 34-17 Chiefs after 52 minutes.

16:10 - TRY! Augustine Pulu dives over for his second try. This time he makes sure he is not held up!

The try had to come after a concerted period of attack by the defending champions.

16:08 - Chiefs get out of trouble as they run from their own line to win a penalty on half-way.

Cruden sets up an attacking lineout...

16:07 - Caylib Oosthuizen has replaced Trevor Ntyakane at prop for the Cheetahs.

16:02 - Scrumhalf Pulu almost scores but he is brilliantly held up by Benjamin...

16:00 - A dominant maul by the Chiefs, but somehow Pretorius manages to rip the ball out and sprint away. He is tackled out on the 22m line. But jeepers, how did he get that ball out?!

15:59 - All Chiefs at the start here. They win a penalty on the Cheetahs 22m line, but they're too far behind to go for posts. Lineout coming up...

15:57 - The Chiefs have brought on two new front rankers in Jamie Mackintosh and Josh Hohneck. They can't do any worse than they already have in the scrums...

15:57 - Welcome back. Cruden starts the second period...

Five metre attacking scrum for the hosts!

15:35 - Both teams full of running, but just as the Chiefs look dangerous, No 9 Pulu kicks it down-field and it goes dead. They come back for a Cheetahs scrum on halfway. Great attacking platform...

That was an obvious forward pass -
Simon Borchardt

15:18 - CONVERSION by Goosen.

15:05 - Cheetahs win the game's first lineout after the Chiefs kicked out directly just inside their own half...

15:03 - Goosen misses the penalty attempt. On the angle, that must have been close to 60m. He had the legs but it was to the right of the uprights.

15:02 - After two minutes of non-stop play, the Cheetahs win a penalty just inside the Chiefs half after the visitors illegally enter a ruck. Goosen will line up from far out...

15:00 - Cheetahs pivot Johan Goosen gets play under way!

14:59 - Good to see that the Free State Stadium playing surface looks in tip-top shape after an overhaul in the last few weeks...

14:56 - DID YOU KNOW?

The Cheetahs have conceded the most tries so far in the competition - 23 in six matches, while the Chiefs have conceded only nine tries.

14:52 - The big question today is: Can the Cheetahs defence hold up against arguably the best attacking team in the competition? Unless the hosts show marked improvement in that department, their fans will leave disappointed.

After coming back from the dead to draw with the Bulls last week, the Chiefs were still confident enough to make 10 changes to their squad. The Cheetahs will be better at home, but I'm going Chiefs by a whisker...
