18:46: GAME OVER. The Stormers hold on in front of their own line to keep the Kings from claiming a bonus point. Well-deserved eight-point win for the hosts.


18:45 - The Kings attacking ferociously on the Stormers line as the hooters sounds...


18:43 - One minute later and Habana does exactly the same. But this time he throws the ball wildly to no-one and the Kings nearly score. Silly from the Springbok wing. Five-metre scrum to the Kings.

18:38 - Push-over TRY to the Kings by flank Wimpie van der Walt. Whitehead misses the conversion though to leave his side eight points adrift with six minutes left.


18:37 - The Kings receive a lifeline with a penalty on halfway. They kick out to set up a driving maul...


18:35 - "The bounce of the ball starting to go for the Stormers now," says SuperSport commentator Bob Skinstad. 10 minutes left.


18:29 - Pietersen CONVERTS brilliantly from close to the touchline after the ball bounces in off the posts. 19-6 with 14 minutes left.


18:27 - TRY to the Stormers by flank Deon Fourie. He crashes over after a strong lineout drive from the hosts.

18:26 - Brilliant tactical kick from Duvenage puts the Stormers on the attack close to the Kings line...


18:25 - Pietersen misses a tough penalty attempt from out wide. His first miss of the evening.


18:22 - Two replacements made by the Stormers. Gerhard van den Heever on at right wing for Gio Aplon and Dewaldt Duvenage on for Louis Schreuder at scrumhalf.


18:19 - PENALTY converted by Pietersen. 12-6 to the home side with 23 minutes left.


18:18 - The Kings are penalised from the ensuing kick-off. Easy chance at goal for the Stormers.


18:17 - PENALTY converted by Whitehead. The Kings are back to within three (9-6).


18:12 - The rain is belting down now as Gio Aplon drops a high ball. Scrum to the Kings close to the Stormers 22m area. The Stormers have been poor under the high ball today.


18:09 - Comfortable PENALTY converted by Pietersen after the Kings are penalised at a scrum on their 22m line. Stormers lead by six.

17:43 - Commentators curse on Whitehead as he makes his first big blunder by knocking on right in front of his own goal-line. Scrum to the Stormers five metres out...


17:41 - Another handling error by the Stormers close to the Kings 22.


17:39 - Stormers launch an attack inside the Kings 22m area but flank Fourie knocks on and the ball is impressively cleared by Kings fullback SP Marais.

17:33 - The Stormers are struggling a fair bit under high kicks from the Kings' halfbacks. Whitehead is having a good game in place of Catrakilis.


17:30 - So far it's not the most entertaining match with both teams opting to go the aerial route. It's understandable though given the weather conditions.


17:27 - Missed drop-kick from 35m out by Kings pivot Whitehead. But the Kings are starting to get a foothold into the match now.


17:26 - The Kings threaten the Stormers line after a clever box kick by scrumhalf Nicolas Vergallo. The Stormers hold on though and Pietersen brings relief with a good clearance.


17:22 - PENALTY converted by Whitehead as the Kings get their first points. 


17:21 - Serial Stormers offender Deon Fourie concedes a penalty at a ruck. First chance at points for the Kings. Whitehead lines up from 30m out...

16:41 - MASSIVE late blow to the Kings as flyhalf Demtri Catrakilis is ruled out with a leg injury. He is replaced by George Whitehead.


16:39 - The Kings will go into the game as underdogs but SuperSport commentator Gavin Cowley believes the treacherous weather conditions will be a great leveller at Newlands today.
