Who was the person who told props that they can play at flyhalf? - Rugga World

35'- The Bulls get close again, but this time Serfontein is the man to drop a ball from Pollard.

How the Bulls haven't managed a try yet is beyond me...

21'- A sniping break from Rebels scrumhalf Luke Burgess brings them into the Bulls 22m area. However, when the ball is swung wide, prop Toby Smith drops it in midfield.

Why is the prop standing in midfield?

20'- Pollard easily slots the PENALTY.

Bulls 6-0 Rebels

19'- The Bulls win a penalty at scrum time just inside the Rebels half. Pollard will line up...

What the hell was Willemse thinking? Bloody idiotic. Takes yellow. Bulls up 3-0 after 17 minutes in a game not even the players care about - Front Row Grunt

17'- If I was Willemse's coach I would not allow him to come back on. Sub him with someone eager to play the ball, and not the man.

Bulls lock Paul Willemse is rightfully sent to the sin-bin. He picked up and dumped a Rebels player above the horizontal. And it was done way off the ball as well.

The penalty the Bulls had is also turned around.

15' - The Rebels do well to defend the driving maul, but conceded a penalty.

However, the TMO is called into action for potential foul play against the Bulls...

8'- Chance for the Rebels to hit back when Bulls No 8 Jacques Engelbrecht is pinges for hands in the ruck...

6'- Easy PENALTY slotted by Pollard.

Bulls 3-0 Rebels

5'- After 9 phases of attack inside the Rebels 22m area, the Bulls win a penalty in front when the Rebels go off-side...

4'- Matfield is played in the air in the game's first lineout. Penalty Bulls.

They set up another lineout deep inside Rebels territory...

3'- A good build-up take the Rebels five metres from the tryline, but players going off their feet gift the Bulls a penalty...

2'- Debreczeni's effort is just wide and short...

1'- The Rebels win an early penalty when Bandise Maku is penalised for hands in the ruck. Flyhalf Jack Debreczeni to line up from close to the touchline, and only just inside the Bulls half...

19:11 - And we're under way as the Rebels kick off!

19:09 - No 8 Colby Fainga'a and prop Toby Smith lead out the Rebels. Both play their 50th Super Rugby game tonight.

A poor crowd at a very cold Loftus Versfeld tonight. Imagine how much bigger the crowd would have been had the Bulls beaten the Stormers last week...

Welcome to Sport24's LIVE scoring and interactive commentary on today's Super Rugby match between the Bulls and Rebels in Pretoria!

  • 80'

Rebels have one last go at the line. 10 metres out as English gets the ball on the wing with the hooter sounding in the backround but the ball is knocked on. That's full time! The Bulls win comfortably to retain their unbeaten record at Loftus in 2014. Thanks for joining us, cheers!

  • 80'

  • 78'

  • 76'

TRY, BULLS, GREYLING. Another line-out for the Bulls in the corner and Greyling comes charging around the back of the line-out to crash over!

  • 75'

The Bulls searching for the fourth try as the look to maul from an attacking line-out. 5 points here tonight will secure second place in the SA conference.

  • 73'

Tighthead! The Rebels are unable to hook under pressure at scrum time and the ball bobbles out on the Bulls side. The benches are empty as the Bulls blood a handful of youngsters.

  • 71'

Jesse Kriel gives away a penalty with his first touch as he is wrapped up by Colby Fainga''a. Debreczeni finds touch.

  • 69'

Bulls scrum which quickly turns into a penalty - the Bulls clear the ball and get some relief. Willemse gathers...another penalty, which Pollard sends into the 22. The Rebels under pressure again.

  • 67'

Try for Hugh Pyle! No! The patient build up is for naught as the ref calls them back for an accidental obstruction from Nic Stirzaker.

  • 65'

Great moment for Jesse Kriel - a star of the U20 World Champs - who comes on to make his Super Rugby debut. He goes onto the wing as van Zyl comes off and Hougaard moves to scrum-half.

  • 63'

The Rebels have a rare visit into the Bulls 22 as Debreczeni gets them back onto the front foot. The visitors are patient in their build up but a floated pass is intercepted by Basson! The Rebels win it back, only for Alo-Emile to knock it on with the line at his mercy...

  • 61'

The Rebels hanging on for dear life here, but they're still keen to attack. They take it through the hands but the Bulls defence doesn't budge on their 10m line.

  • 58'

CONVERSION, POLLARD. 33-7. Excellent conversion from out wide!

  • 57'

TRY, BULLS, HOUGAARD. 31-7. Great finish by Hougaard after an 11-phase build up. A long pass wide gives Hougaard some space and he twists and turns his way to the line!

  • 53'

CONVERSION, POLLARD. 26-7. Impossible to see the Rebels come back from here...

  • 52'

TRY, BULLS, WILLEMSE.24-7. The Bulls lock bags his second of the half after a barnstorming run from Morné Mellett. Willemse is next to charge forward and stretches out an arm to score!

  • 49'

The Rebels don't throw in straight at a line-out and the Bulls ask for another. Seffontein goes on the crash ball but Matfield can't hold onto the offload. Colby Fainga'a hacks it away to release the pressure.

  • 48'

Roelof Smit heads to the blood bin after a knock to the nose. Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg makes his Super Rugby debut.

  • 46'

The Bulls look to open up from deep as Hougaard stretches his legs. He loses his footing though and the Rebels can shut the attack down.

  • 43'

  • 42'

TRY, BULLS, WILLEMSE. 17-7. Visser takes the ball from a deep kick and goes on a jinking run, he makes some yards and gets the Bulls on to the front foot. They get up to the 5 metre line and Willemse barges his way over the line!

  • 41'

Here we go for the second half as Pollard kicks us off. Can the Bulls lift their game in the second half.

  • 40'

The Rebels get a late penalty as Debreczeni lines up. But once again he sends his kick wide. That's half time. It's anyone's game!

  • 40'

  • 38'

Time and again the Bulls get into the red zone before making a mistake. Van Zyl makes a great little break around the fringes but good work from Shota Horie means the danger is averted.

  • 36'

The Bulls drive from the line-out but the maul gets fractured. Serfontein knocks on as he looks to breach the line. The Rebels also fumble so they have a defensive scrum to deal with.

  • 34'

Huge pressure on the Rebels as the Bulls kick into the corner. Debreczeni clears from deep behind his own tryline.

  • 32'

YELLOW CARD, REBELS, FUGLISTALLER. The Rebels had been warned and another infringement at the breakdown means the skipper will end the half in the bin.

  • 30'

PENALTY, BULLS, POLLARD. 12-7. The Bulls plying the pressure now and the Rebels are struggling to cope. Hands on the deck and Pollard slots his fourth from four.

  • 27'

PENALTY, BULLS, POLLARD. 9-7. The Rebels are pinged for obstruction so Pollard can put the home side back in front.

  • 25'

  • 24'

TRY, REBELS, DEBRECZENI. 6-5. The Rebels go on the attack as the ball comes out of the ruck from Fuglistaller. He finds Debreczeni on a great angle, the fly-half breaks two tackles to score under the posts!

  • 22'

Excellent break from Piet van Zyl but is isolated, turn over!

  • 20'

PENALTY, BULLS, POLLARD. 6-0. The new Springbok fly-half doubles the lead for the hosts with his second kick of the night.

  • 19'

Marcel van der Merwe goes in the charge but the ball is lost forward. Rebels scrum but it needs a couple resets...

  • 16'

Textbook line-out and maul from the Bulls, but they're not going forward. The ref halts play and wants to have a look at some off-the-ball stuff...

  • 16'

YELLOW CARD, BULLS, WILLEMSE. Stupid...just plane stupid. Willemse tip tackles Hugh Pyle off the ball and gets a 10 minute rest. An opportunity is lost for the Bulls.

  • 14'

Pollard clears from the back of a scrum to allow the Rebels to counter near halfway. Tom English is bundled into touch, so the Bulls will have a line-out on their 10m line.

  • 12'

Jan Serfontein heads to the blood bin after a clash of heads with Jono Ross. He'll be back, no doubt.

  • 11'

Excellent ball retention from the Rebels who take it through 18 phases. The Bulls working hard on defence inside their own half.

  • 9'

Some scrappy play opens up the field for Hougaard to have a run down the wing. The ball is turned over a few times and eventually the ref steps in. Debreczeni misses another one! 6 points have gone a begging already.

  • 7'

PENALTY, BULLS, POLLARD. 3-0. First blood to the hosts, easy kick for Pollard from right in front.

  • 5'

Matfield is played in the air, so Pollard has a penalty to kick into touch as they reach the Rebels 22. Willemse takes the ball down as the Bulls charge on...

  • 3'

Debreczeni's attempt from almost 50m and right on the touchline, is just off target. 0-0 it remains.

  • 2'

Telusa Veainu looks to attack from deep. Bandise Maku makes the tackle but uses his hands on the deck. Jack Debreczeni will have a shot at goal from long range.

  • 1'

Here we go! The Rebels kick off an it goes deep. The Bulls take it in, control, and Pollard returns fire.

  • 0'

Hello and welcome to Loftus Versfeld for our coverage of the Bulls'' final match of the regular season. The three-time champs have failed to make the play-offs but they''ll want to go with a bang against a Rebels team that is set to finish last. Kick-off is approaching, don''t go away!

  • 0'

Team news: Flanker Roelof Smit will make his first start for the Bulls. Jurgen Visser is back at full-back, having recovered from an abductor strain that kept him out of the Newlands clash and replaces Ulrich Beyers. Francois Hougaard will play on the wing, replacing the injured Akona Ndungane, with Piet van Zyl starting at scrum-half. With Grant Hattingh injured, Jacques Engelbrecht will move back to number eight, Jono Ross moves to the blinside flank and Smit slots in on the openside. Bulls boss Frans Ludeke also changed his front row. Marcel van der Merwe will start at tighthead prop, Bandise Maku gets a rare start at hooker and Mornè Mellett will start at loosehead for the first time this season.

  • 0'

Team news: Rebels flanker Scott Fuglistaller has been named as captain following Scott Higginbotham being handed a one-week suspension. Colby Fainga'a and Toby Smith will both celebrate their 50th Super Rugby match. A re-shuffle of the forward packs sees Wallaby Luke Jones move to the back of the scrum as blindside flanker and Fainga'a shift to number eight, with Cadeyrn Neville replacing Jones as the second lock. Injuries to Tom Kingston (knee) and Bryce Hegarty (shoulder) see Jason Woodward and Telusa Veainu return to the backline as part of a re-shuffle, which sees young gun Jack Debreczeni move to flyhalf and Woodward replace him at full-back.
