Cape Town - After their humiliating loss to the Lions at the weekend, the Stormers received more bad news with injuries to three key players.
As it happened: Lions v Stormers
Argentine lock Manuel Carizza and loose forwards, Schalk Burger and Siya Kolisi, could miss Friday night's match against the Hurricanes after picking up injuries in their 34-10 loss at Ellis Park.
Carizza has a back injury while there's also uncertainty around Burger (groin) and Kolisi (shoulder).
Coach Allister Coetzee is pessimistic that Carizza could recover in time, but is unsure of Burger and Kolisi.
“We will know more tomorrow (Monday) once the injured guys have been evaluated properly,” Coetzee told the Stormers' official website.
“At this stage, one would have to say that Manuel’s injury is the most serious of the three.”
Coetzee described his side's performance as an "embarrassment".
"We were as bad as the Lions were good. We conceded turnover possession on 10 occasions while in the Lions' 22 and gave away possession 25 times overall."
Friday's clash at Newlands kicks off at 19:10.
