Hooper cited for foul play

Wellington -The Brumbies are sweating on the potential loss of Michael Hooper for next week's crucial Super Rugby clash with the Reds after the in-form flank was cited for a lifting tackle.

Hooper's alleged indiscretion came when he lifted Victor Vito in the 48th minute of the Brumbies' 37-25 victory over the Hurricanes in Wellington on Friday.

Hooper was penalised at the time, but on Saturday SANZAR deemed the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.

The matter is now in the hands of SANZAR judicial officer Mike Heron, who will review the footage and make a judgement call.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
