Sydney - Wallabies' hooker James Hanson has quit the troubled Reds to sign with Australian Super Rugby rivals Rebels, the club said Thursday.
Hanson has joined the Rebels for the 2016 and 2017 Super Rugby seasons.
He has made 78 Super Rugby appearances for the Reds and played nine times for the Wallabies since making his Test debut against the All Blacks in 2012.
The Reds, who have only won three Super Rugby matches this season, have also lost internationals Will Genia and James Horwill to European clubs, while French Top 14 rugby side Toulon say they have signed Wallabies' flyhalf Quade Cooper to a two-year deal.
