Habana condemns Cape fans

Cape Town - Injured Stormers and Springbok wing Bryan Habana has hit out at the 'Cape Crusaders' fans on Twitter.

Habana, who is recovering from a leg injury, was with the team on Saturday during their 19-14 defeat to their New Zealand opponents and condemned the actions of the Crusaders-supporting South Africans in the crowd.

According to the Front Row Grunt blog, Habana tweeted: If I had the money I would happily buy all these “Cape Crusaders” a one way ticket to Christchurch!! #disappointedproudsouthafrican

Before adding: highly doubt there’s any place in the world where you get booed off your bus, at your home stadium, by your “fellow” countrymen. And yet there are so many amazing, passionate, faithful supporters at Newlands!! We really appreciate your support!!!

The Western Province Rugby Union (WPRU) has launched an investigation into the matter.

Habana is expected to be fit for the Stormers' overseas Super Rugby tour in a fortnight.

The Stormers take on the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein this weekend, before welcoming the SA Conference table-topping Sharks to Newlands on Saturday, April 13.
