Goosen starts for Cheetahs

Cape Town - Johan Goosen will start at flyhalf for the Cheetahs in their pre-season match against the Eastern Province Kings in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Goosen, who did not take part in last Friday's matches against Shimlas and Griquas in Bloemfontein, comes in for Elgar Watts.

Hennie Daniller replaces Willie le Roux at fullback, as the Springbok is being rested after falling on his shoulder.

Jean Cook, who joined from the Bulls this year, will start at No 6 after impressing the Cheetahs coaches last week. He successfully recovered from a hand injury and impressed when he came off the bench in their 66-19 win over Shimlas last Friday. He comes in for Boom Prinsloo who moves to the bench.

The Cheetahs B team also face NMMU on Tuesday.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
