Force lose McMeniman

Sydney - The Force will be without their Wallaby backrower Hugh McMeniman for this weekend's crunch Super Rugby match with the Brumbies after he was suspended by the SANZAR judiciary on Monday.

McMeniman pleaded guilty to a striking charge arising from a first-half incident in last Saturday's game against the Reds in Perth.

The video footage showed he dropped his knee into the side of Reds fly-half Ben Lucas.

Although Lucas suffered no serious injury McMeniman's actions were deemed as a deliberate use of the knee and a week's suspension was imposed.

The Brumbies are clinging on to the sixth and last play-off position in the Super 15 but face a do-or-die showdown with the seventh-placed Force in Canberra to decide which team make the finals.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
