Flip to return for Brumbies

Cape Town - Bulls captain Flip van der Merwe will be back for their Super Rugby clash against the Brumbies in Pretoria on May 23.

The Bulls skipper was suspended for their last three games after being found guilty of foul play in their loss to the Waratahs on April 19.

Van der Merwe was also struggling with a hamstring strain but the Bulls announced on Tuesday that he is fit again and will be ready for their next game.

Scrumhalf Piet van Zyl (knee) has also been declared fit to join their preparations for the Brumbies clash.

The Bulls, who have a bye this weekend, also reported no injuries after the 28-12 win over the Stormers last Saturday.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
