Cape Town - Injury has ruled Bulls captain Flip van der Merwe out of their team to face the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday (kick-off 19:10).
Van der Merwe has been ruled out of due to a hamstring strain.
His place in the team will be taken by Paul Willemse, who will move from the bench into the number four jersey.
The captaincy will be taken over by Victor Matfield.
Grant Hattingh, who was due to play for the Blue Bulls in the Vodacom Cup clash against the Golden Lions on Saturday, has been promoted to the bench for the Bulls.
