Jones linked with Stormers job

Cape Town - Japan coach Eddie Jones is believed to be in line to become the next Stormers coach.

According to the Cape Times, the former Wallabies coach and Springbok technical adviser met with WP Rugby when he was in Cape Town last week and negotiations are ongoing for him to become Stormers coach from the 2016 season.

He would replace Allister Coetzee, who is believed to be on his way to Japan to coach the Kobelco Steelers when Super Rugby ends this year.

WP Rugby is expected to make an official announcement on Tuesday regarding Coetzee's departure and the appointment of WP Vodacom Cup and Under-21 coach John Dobson as Currie Cup coach.

The Stormers play their final Super Rugby warm-up match against the Boland Cavaliers at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, having already notched pre-season wins over the SWD Eagles (34-3) and the Cheetahs (39-31).

They start their Super Rugby campaign against the Bulls in Pretoria on February 14.
