Bloemfontein – The Cheetahs are set to take on the Stormers’ Springbok speedsters, Bryan Habana and Gio Aplon, with their leading wings.
Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské is nevertheless facing a pleasant selection headache for the Cheetahs’ final Super Rugby match of 2011 as all his wings are available.
Philip Burger and Rayno Benjamin can be considered for the clash, with Riaan Viljoen, Philip Snyman and Riaan (True Blue) Smit also in the picture.
According to the Cheetahs Bulletin, Burger has recovered from a hamstring injury and Benjamin has also served his two-week suspension for an alleged headbutt against the Melbourne Rebels. On top of that injured Springbok flank Heinrich Brüssow also has an outside chance of playing.
He injured a hamstring against the Crusaders and was due to be out of action for four to six weeks. The Stormers match takes place in the fifth week of his injury.
It’s the first time in a while that Drotské has had the luxury of picking from several fit wings.
Burger and Benjamin started the tournament as first-choice wings against the Sharks, but it’s unclear whether they will make the starting line-up. Viljoen, Snyman and Smit have all fitted well into the Cheetahs’ attacking game plan.
Viljoen had a good outing at wing in the Cheetahs’ last game against the Sharks so that Hennie Daniller could play fullback. While Viljoen again showed that he can slot in anywhere among the outside backs, Snyman also shone. Smit had to be satisfied with a place on the bench against the Sharks.

Benjamin delivered his best performance to date for the Cheetahs in his last game against the Rebels and should slot into the starting line-up.
Drotské and Cheetahs backline coach Hawies Fourie will have to bear a few things in mind when they pick the wings. Someone has to keep the twinkle-toed Aplon in check and the home team would like to test Habana with an aerial bombardment.
