Dennis at No 8 for Waratahs

Cape Town - The Waratahs have named captain Dave Dennis to start at No 8 in their Super Rugby match against the Crusaders in Christchurch on Friday.

Dennis, who started at blindside flank in their 24-22 loss to the Rebels last Friday, moves to the back of the scrum in place of Wycliff Palu, who failed to recover from a knock to the knee.

Pat McCutcheon comes in to the starting team, with Michael Hooper retaining the No 7 jumper.

Amongst the backs, coach Michael Cheika reverted to the halfback and midfield combinations that brought success against the Brumbies two weeks ago, with Brendan McKibbin back at scrumhalf in place of Matt Lucas, and Rob Horne coming in at inside centre, replacing Berrick Barnes.

Wing Cam Crawford, who has recovered from a thigh injury, returns to the starting side in place of Drew Mitchell.

The clash in Christchurch kicks off at 09:35 (SA time) on Friday.
