De Jongh commits to Stormers

2012-03-13 11:16

Cape Town - Springbok centre Juan de Jongh has signed a contract extension and will remain in the Cape until the end of 2015.

Die Burger reports that De Jongh, who was originally contracted until the end of 2012, will stay on at the Stormers and Western Province for a further three years.

Another Springbok, Gio Aplon, is also expected to remain at the Cape Town-based union.

The Stormers began the year on an uncertain note with director of rugby Rassie Erasmus announcing his resignation.

Nevertheless, they have since locked head coach Allister Coetzee into a three-year contract extension and recently confirmed that the promising quartet of Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi, Frans Malherbe and Steven Kitshoff will remain at the union until the end of 2015.

      Melt - 2012-03-13 14:28

@Bulldozer and GTR 2. GTR 2 If my comments are utterly useless, why bother reading and giving comments on it? Bulldozer, Cant remember me saying you said it was the best side. I made a statement with my last sentence. Have a nice day we as a SA side will take revence on Friday night. All the best for your side (with three cups under the beld) for next Saturday. I hope you win and keep SA proud.

      Bulldozer - 2012-03-13 14:38

  • ryan.a.riley - 2012-03-13 11:54

ok cool..now jus get rid of jean de villiers coz he never gives de jong a pass...stormers will score more tries with juan at 12. remember 2010.

      Saffa - 2012-03-13 12:19

I remember the years 2002 up until now - they were all years we won "nothing", yet we still get the best attendance, and fans remain LOYAL in the extreme. Is there something about that picture that upsets you?

      Bulldozer - 2012-03-13 12:31

Nothing upsets me, Mill. You should know that. Especially not a full Newlands stadium.

      Saffa - 2012-03-13 15:44

Sorry I wanted to say 2002 to 2020

      Koos - 2012-03-13 13:12

@bull tosser, we mite not have cups but weve got manners and morals, something clearly lacking in some bulls supporters, who in this day and age still throws bottles at players?

      Stormkaap - 2012-03-13 13:28

I thought that(bottle throwing) stopped in the days of Cape Town City and Hellenic Derbies way back when I was a kid, like they say..u cant buy class

      Bulldozer - 2012-03-13 14:39
