De Allende in cast: Pic

Cape Town - Stormers utility back Damian de Allende has tweeted a picture of himself wearing a cast after being treated for a knee injury.

The 22-year old must be cursing his bad luck after he was injured this weekend just after receiving a call-up to the Springboks for his good form in Super Rugby.

De Allende, one of seven uncapped players in the Springbok squad, suffered a medial knee ligament injury in the Stormers' Super Rugby victory against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.

The 22-year-old centre was taken for scans by the Springboks' medical team on Monday morning and will be sidelined for between four and six weeks, ruling him out of the Incoming Series.

De Allende's place in the squad has been taken by Lions flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff.

De Allende included the picture of himself in the cast on his Twitter page with this message:

"First bath with a cast on and now it's time to chill out. Hoping for a speedy and successful recovery!… http://instagram.com/p/ox4FvMAQKO/"
