Cape Town - He may not have won the competition, but Stormers coach Allister Coetzee is statistically the best of the South African coaches in Super Rugby.

WIN: Cell C Sharks home Super Rugby tickets!

According to the Volksblad website, Coetzee has won 45 of 65 matches since taking charge of the Stormers in 2010 for a winning ratio of 69.23%.

Sharks coach Jake White - who coached the Brumbies in 2012 and 2013 - is second in line, winning 22 of his 35 matches for a success ratio of 62.86%.

Third in line is Bulls coach Frans Ludeke who's been on the winning side 70 times in 116 matches for 60.34%.

Ludeke won 8 out of 23 matches when he coached the Cats between 2001/02 (34.78%) and 62 of 93 (66.67%) since joining the Bulls in 2008.

Fourth on the list is Lions coach Johann Ackermann who won 2 out of 5 matches (40%) since taking the helm of the Johannesburg team in 2012. The Lions did not play Super Rugby in 2013.

Last on the list is Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské, who has won only 28 of 88 matches (31.82%) since taking charge of the Bloemfontein side in 2008.

While Coetzee tops the chart of the five coaches, it has to be noted that Ludeke is the only coach to have won the competition, having coached the Bulls to successive titles in 2009 and 2010.
