Coenie lauds Kings scrum

Cape Town - Cheetahs prop Coenie Oosthuizen has praised the Kings front row for their efforts in this year's Super Rugby competition.

Oosthuizen will play his 50th Super Rugby match on Saturday and expects a physical war up front from the Kings at the Free State Stadium.

The Kings have surprised with their scrummaging this year and Oosthuizen, along with skipper Adriaan Strauss and Lourens Adriaanse, expects a tough duel with Kevin Buys, Bandise Maku and Schalk Ferreira.

"The Kings' scrummaging is definitely one of their strenghts. We're expecting a physical onslaught up front," the 24-year-old told the Volksblad website.

"At scrum time the Kings are one of the best teams in the competition. They have shown they're here to scrum and won't stand back for anyone.

"(But) we're ready for them and will give our best this weekend. I know that if we can take them on up front, it will determine the outcome of the match."

Oosthuizen, who has sufficiently recovered from a back injury which plagued him earlier in the season, says it's an honour to play his 50th game at such a young age.

"It's a match you wait for your whole life and I'll play my heart out," he said.

The Cheetahs are curently sixth on the Overall Super Rugby log with six wins from nine games, while the Kings are languishing at second from bottom with two wins and a draw from eight games.

Kick-off on Saturday night is at 19:10.
