Cape Town - Brumbies lock Sam Carter will miss this weekend's clash with the Highlanders following the death of a close family friend who tragically passed away last weekend playing for the Qurundi Lions.
The Wallaby lock's family are still based in Qurundi and he will be allowed to return home for the funeral and for as long as he needs.
"At a time like this, rugby takes a back seat. From our point of view family is extremely important," said Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham told the Canberra Times.
