Carstens set to tackle Bulls

Cape Town - Deon Carstens is expected to be named as the Stormers loosehead prop for their Super Rugby derby against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Carstens will replace the injured Steven Kitshoff, who is with the Baby Boks preparing for the IRB Junior World Championships.

According to Die Burger, Carstens's inclusion is one of two expected changes from the team that lost 25-20 to the Sharks in Durban last week.

The other is the return of Siya Kolisi at flank in place of Deon Fourie. Kolisi was a late withdrawal from the match at the Shark Tank when he failed to sufficiently recover from a shoulder niggle.

Lock Eben Etzebeth, who left the field as a precautionary measure last week, should also start against the Bulls.

The Stormers were unhappy with the fact that Kitshoff was not allowed to play but forwards coach Matthew Proudfoot said they have faith in Carstens's abilities.

"The situation with Steven is not ideal, but Deon has always been part of our group and toured with us overseas. So he knows what we expect," said Proudfoot.

The clash at Loftus kicks off at 19:10 on Saturday evening.
