Canadian to start for Stormers

2012-05-16 13:41

Cape Town - Coach Allister Coetzee on Wednesday named the Stormers team to take on the Waratahs at Newlands on Saturday. Kick-off is at 19:10.

VIDEO: Meet Jebb Sinclair

There are two changes to the starting XV that beat the Cheetahs last week, the first a rotational change with the hookers trading jerseys. Tiaan Liebenberg moves from the bench into the starting line-up with Deon Fourie playing from the bench in jersey No 16.

The other change is an injury enforced change that sees Canadian international and London Irish No 8 Jebb Sinclair get his first start at the back of the scrum, in for the injured Nizaam Carr. WP player Don Armand is named as cover on the bench in jersey 19.

This weekend also sees Dewaldt Duvenage get his 50th cap for the Stormers and Bryan Habana will play his 100th Super Rugby game.

The Stormers have won nine from 10 starts this season and are currently one point behind the Bulls in the South African Conference.

The game is the Stormers' last home fixture until after the June international break when on June30  they take on the Lions at Newlands.

The Stormers in the next two weeks will face the Sharks and the Bulls, both away, before the June international Test window.

3/3 sal sover uitstekend wees vir SA, veral vir julle Blou Bul ondersteuners.

      Saffa - 2012-05-16 13:15

You could have just asked someone on the forum to bring you lunch old chap. No need to scrape anything out of any waste barrel Harold.........ask us, we are here for you. Sharing is caring.....

      Pierre - 2012-05-16 13:16

      Scraping from someone elses barrel?

      Master - 2012-05-16 13:17

@Harold: Your ass, your face, what's the difference?

      Harold - 2012-05-16 13:30

      Ask your mom.

      Tokolos - 2012-05-16 13:48

Stompies are scraping the English League rather

      Jean - 2012-05-16 13:51

Just want to say, Im glad they dont take too many players out of the vodacom team, those guys played their backsides off, to get to the finals, and then they just get pulled out of the team to do superrugby duty!

      Saffa - 2012-05-16 13:55

RED CARD for Harold......Now I am going to wait and see if any Bulls kenner tells Harold that his 'mom' comment was uncalled for....C'mon all you moral Blue folk, Rene, Raven, Ampie, Anton etc etc etc - I'm waiting to witness the tongue lashing you are going to Harold now...(one of your own)....

      Nic - 2012-05-16 13:59

      Well said Harold.

      Tokolos - 2012-05-16 14:02

Nee Harold. Dis nie reg nie man. Sê eerder "daai vrou" dan insult jy niemand. Sê jy is sorry!

      Saffa - 2012-05-16 14:13

R50 randjies vir jou Tokkie.......Where are the rest of those who sit stranded on the moral highground?

  • Master - 2012-05-16 13:12

As expected. Hopefully we can improve on last weekend's performance!

      Pierre - 2012-05-16 13:15

If you dont, well, that would be funny. Tragic, but funny.

  • Lionel - 2012-05-16 13:29

Go my beloved team........another win at home before you hit the road again..good luck!!!!!!!!!Stormers by 6 points

      Tokolos - 2012-05-16 13:46

Lionel you are not allowed to predict ANYTHING... school teacher SAFFA is going to jump on you!!!

      Lionel - 2012-05-16 13:50

Het sy vir jou pak gegee,Tokkie????

      Dirk - 2012-05-16 13:54

Lionel, let's aim higher. Stormers will win this game scoring 4 tries!

      Lionel - 2012-05-16 13:57

      Which article

      Saffa - 2012-05-16 13:57

Nope at Tokkie - for unlike you, Lionel's predictions come true more often than not....9 times out of 10 to be exact. Isak has also been very accurate. You on the other hand are about as accurate as SA's crime stats.....

      Tokolos - 2012-05-16 13:59

      Dirk - 2012-05-16 14:11

Which one? Hahahaha all of them, just browse all the articles from today. There were a lot of other victims, all of them, lots off blood, lots of... it was horrible! I don't know if I can go on anymore... God help us all! If anybody find this message.... what's that... aaaaaaargghhrhh!!!! (silence)

      Dirk - 2012-05-16 14:43

@ Tok, dit is omdat jy groot voorarms het, sy wil jou graag net eintlik help.

  • Herman - 2012-05-16 13:47

Whether import of players or not I wish to distance myself from the Stormers rugby culture. Being said by a Capetonian. No team deserves to play in a final when unable to score tries

      Dirk - 2012-05-16 13:59

They're just saving all the great tries for the finals! You'll see.

      Saffa - 2012-05-16 14:02

Goodbye Herman. Don't let the door hit your arthritic buttbones on the way out. PS: this is not like church old chap, where you have to come and publically renounce your support or belief in a team/or belief system.....You can in fact, just start supporting another team - simple as that. Speak to Tokkie, he has the Bulls fan club application forms (the form is in fact a join the dots poster of Spies......)

      hannes.handogg - 2012-05-16 14:08

Herman, we're all entitled to do what we feel is right. However, I think your statement is a tad over dramatic. Scoring tries is not necessarliy what wins tournaments. Winning games is what does the trick. Granted, I understand your disappointment with the really boring game we played against the Cheetahs on Saturday. So was I. But I'll stick by my team through good times and bad. (And yes Blue bulls, there where more bad times than good the last couple of years. Ha ha!) But, you don't switch teams when things don't go as planned. It's just not cricket.

      LaBlue - 2012-05-16 14:09

      hannes.handogg - 2012-05-16 14:11

Ha ha ha! Saffa jy laat my lag!

      Tokolos - 2012-05-16 14:15

Herman... Tokolos is here for you... Only one thing.... If you denounce your team that easily... Tokolos is not so sure though that you will be accepted by the Bulls if you abandon ship that easily.

      BlouMasjien - 2012-05-16 14:32

      Stirrer - 2012-05-16 14:37

Tokkie, you mean we'll see Herman back in the Stormers camp at 9:15 on Saturday morning?

  • Herman - 2012-05-16 15:13

Amazing the comment on an objective fact. Jean de villiers confirmed their dismal performance as captain. Saffa I add this\ do not enter into a battle of wits with an unarmed person\ that is you!stay clear and go to playscool! Why am I a blue bull for just voicing criticism against my own team? Joy jerk!

  • jan.henning.14 - 2012-05-16 18:18

I can't believe that the whole of the Western Cape cannot produce a single loose forward and that the Stormers must scrape the bottom of the pot by playing 'borrowed' players from Canadian and British clubs. It must be disheartening to the Vodacom Cup players to see that Coetsee has no faith in them. Hopefully we will see some decent rugby from the Stormers this weekend.
