Cape Town - Former Wallaby wing David Campese believes former Bok coach Jake White will struggle to turn the Brumbies into a winning team.
White's first Super Rugby game in charge of the Brumbies is against the Western Force in Canberra on Friday.
Campese believes White could be in for an unpleasant surprise with the Australian outfit this year.
"It's very different in Canberra (than in South Africa). In Canberra rugby league is also popular with the Raiders-team playing there - there's thus a lot of competition for rugby.
"The Brumbies have also struggled over the last few years and lost a number of good players without producing outstanding new ones," Campese told the Beeld newspaper.
Campese feels the fact that Australia lacks in player depth when compared to South Africa could prove troublesome for White.
"There are something like 350 Australians playing in Europe. There's just not enough strength in depth to make up for it.
"That will probably prove troublesome for Jake. Rugby is more of a religion in South Africa than in Australia, everyone in South Africa wants to be a Bok," said Campese.
The Brumbies' game against the Force kicks off at 10:40 (SA time) on Friday.
